Taking The Mommy Hook To My Local H-E-B Grocery Store

Sharing The Mommy Hook as often as I can!

While on a recent shopping trip to our local H-E-B, I brought along a Mommy Hook to introduce as well as give away. The Mommy Hook is the perfect gadget for parents and caretakers alike. They really do give you an "extra hand"! We have been using ours for shopping and times when we are carrying too much with the baby around. I absolutely love it! It is the ultimate stroller accessory that can also be used for holding things to a cart. I wrote a review on it that you can read here
I highly suggest it as a Christmas gift idea. I have decided to pair it with a couple other Mom gadgets to complete an ideal gift collection. You can find out where they carry them locally.
I also suggest that you look them up on Facebook here, as they have been posting a lot of helpful tips for parents.

With my last Mommy Hook, I have put together a gift basket idea to take to a Christmas party where I know parents will be present. One set of parents in particular that I think would truly enjoy these have three kids. One is autistic and one is an infant. Their hands are kept busy everywhere they go. I'm hoping the Mommy Hook will make it easier for them to get around.
What do you think? Am I on the right track with this??
Do you know anyone who can benefit? Who is left on your Christmas gift list that needs help?

Turning an Everyday Outing Into an Adventure! (+ giveaway)

Sparking a child's imagination is very important to me. I think all children need creativity and free thinking to be a part of their daily lives. To hold fast to the wonder of everything around them. And best of all is when something simple triggers it. Which is exactly where Kidorable comes to mind.
*Disclaimer: I was sent this product in exchange for my honest review. I was not otherwise paid or endorsed and most definitely not told what to say. All opinions are my own.*

I have the greatest pleasure in showcasing one of Kidorable's amazing products. And at the end of the review, I encourage you to sign up for the giveaway they are hosting through me! You will have the chance to win your own awesome kids umbrella! Cool, right?? So let's get to it!
What makes them so wonderful?

Kidorable brings everyday products with a magical twist to spark creative thinking and let the imagination run wild. Be it while a child holds an umbrella in the rain or wearing their favorite character set of winter gear, there is something out there for every child to enjoy. As I was looking over their website, my daughter happened to see the Mermaid Umbrella and she loved it!
Of course, when I was checking it out, it was sold out. But that just goes to show how popular it is among the little ladies out there! It has such a cute underwater design that goes all the way around. The mermaid princess is in the center, with her tail topping the umbrella. There will be no mistaking my little dreamer, no matter how many other umbrella-covered kiddos are around. Hers will always stand out!
Unique designs to be distinguished!

One thing I love about these? The uncommon designs! Not just the part that covers her head, but all the way to the handle. This one has such a cute little sea horse for her little hands to grip. It fits perfectly in her grasp.
Down here in Texas, we have been battling rain every week for the past couple months. We have a giant umbrella, but the little lady often gets stuck outside its reach since the boys and I take longer strides. This way, she can keep covered without having to run to keep up!

But the rain isn't the only thing she needs the cover for. The sun can be brutal as well. Blinding rays that freckle the skin and heat you up. This umbrella protects her from it all!

But that is not all they offer!

Umbrellas may be the main draw, but they don't stop there. They have full rain gear sets that include galoshes and rain coats. Your child can be covered from head to toe as they venture outside. They also have winter sets which come with gloves, hats and scarves. The backpacks are absolutely adorable too! And then the towels - to bring fun and imagination after the bath! Wherever possible, I think we should spark that creativity in their minds. And it can very easily start with something as simple as these everyday items.

Where can you get one?

Besides their website, they also sell on Amazon! I love this option since they are Prime eligible. Which is perfect since Christmas is right around the corner and they make fantastic gifts! Especially the winter sets. Here in Texas, it doesn't get truly cold enough until December and January anyhow.

Would you like to try to win one?

Kidorable would like to give one lucky winner their own kids umbrella! So I have set up a giveaway below. Remember to let me know what style you want to win! And "May the odds be ever in your favor!"

Do You Want a Free Mommy Hook?? (giveaway included)

I recently wrote a review of The Mommy Hook. This fantastic little treasure has been quite a blessing to our family. My husband and I are often in need of a spare hand (or two). And that is exactly what The Mommy Hook is!

*Disclaimer: I was sent these products free of charge in exchange for my honest review and to give away. I was not otherwise paid or endorsed.*

What is The Mommy Hook?

The Mommy Hook, simply put, is the greatest stroller accessory you can find. It has so many uses! But essentially gives you an additional helping hand. With 4 kids, we need help carrying bags or water bottles all the time. They hang from the stroller or cart with ease.
"They Call Me Mr. Mommy Hook," featuring David Abels as David Abels from The Mommy Hook on Vimeo.

Who can benefit from it?

Honestly - anyone! Whether you use it just to haul multiple bags at once (think of unloading the car after going grocery shopping) or if you have to carry bags while juggling a baby.

Where can you get yours?

These are sold locally too! You can check here to find out where they are close to you. I saw retailers like Target, Walmart and Buy Buy Baby on there. Amazon has them as well! But if you aren't in America, don't worry! They have international sales too.

How do you win one?

Want to win one first and see how awesome they are before buying? Well, just enter my giveaway below! Or win one to pass along as a gift to someone you know in need of an extra hand.

Crafting for the Holidays

There is something to be said for being able to make things yourself. It can boost your confidence in yourself, raising your self esteem. For some it can be a stress reliever. You get so focused in what you are doing, that you loose the chaotic thoughts of life for just a little while. It saves money. When you make gifts, you are showing that you took the time to pour love and thoughtfulness into it.

I'm not naturally gifted with the crafter gene. I am one of those who so desperately longs to be creative, that I will try my hand at something with high hopes, but still have the expectation it most likely will fail. My natural optimism falters when it comes to crafts.

Since I'm trying to save money this year, I thought I'd try to make some gifts. Okay, originally, I planned on making most gifts... Now, however, I am being realistic and making just some. Like a pearl framed mirror for my 5 year old daughter.
Or this pearl and crystal framed photo. After failing to make what I originally wanted (see below) I had to decide to be creative or toss. And then I saw this idea and got creative.
I'm also attempting to make this napkin holder giftable.
I started this Christmas tree-looking decoration.
I was advised to add some bling. Currently out, but my daughter likes it.
Things like this are simple, but cute. For someone just starting out, check out Pinterest and see what you have laying around your house. As I have learned, not everything comes out as intended. We don't all craft on the same levels. That crystal picture frame was actually meant to be a candle holder, but it didn't turn out like the Pinterest video.

You have to think outside the box. And always remember - "Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm." Winston Churchill.
History tidbit: WD-40 stands for Water Displacement perfected on the 40th try. It took them 40 tries to create what is now a household name with a plethora of uses!

3DLightFX gift idea

As a part of the US Family Guide of bloggers, I was wanting to share a cool gift idea that I might later have the chance to review. Christmas is around the corner. And some parents, like myself, aren't a fan of their kids receiving too many toys. Let's face it, my kids have a room full of them and I'm going to have to donate some before they get a bunch more. Or after Christmas if I don't have time until then... So what ideas can I give to those wanting to buy for my kiddos? Aside from a few clothing items they needed, there wasn't much they really needed that could wait until Christmas for them to get.
3DLIGHTFX 3D Deco Lights are the perfect gift this holiday season. They have a full range of comic book, super hero, Disney Princess, sports and car lights that look as though they are popping right out of the wall! They are battery operated and cool to the touch so you can place them any where in the room! Your kids will loves having these in their rooms and they're also the perfect editions to a den, family room, man's cave or office! Find all of these amazing products here: http://bit.ly/TargetUSFamily
Another reason to consider them, is if your children are like mine and don't like having a dark room to sleep in. They make the perfect night lights! The kids love them because they have the crack sticker that makes it look like they are really coming out of the wall. We have the Death Star one hanging near by baby's crib.
I love that it has a timer option and will shut itself off after a while.
They are available at Target and Target.com. Just use the link above.
You can also check out their website. They have such a wonderful variety to choose from!

Hickies can be a parents best friend...

Not that kind of hickie! Get your mind out of the gutter...
As part of the US Family Guide, I'm reviewing Hickies - No Tie Elastic Shoelaces. I have an 8 and a 6 year old that both have no interest in learning to tie their own shoes. We have attempted many times to go over the easiest ways to do so, without success. So I was quite thrilled to be offered the chance to try out Hickies.
These are no-tie elastic shoelaces. You simply thread them through the holes and fasten. They turn your sneakers or tennis shoes into easy, streamlined, slide on shoes! My kids prefer to slide their shoes on anyhow, even if they are the kind that get tied. This way, I'm not slowed down having to tie them each time we have to go somewhere. They have a great tutorial to walk you through the process in getting started with using them.
I like how sturdy they are. My kids wear out their shoelaces painfully quick. Shoelaces come unraveled and don't want to re-thread as they should.
They also loosen over time when your kids keeping sliding their shoes on or off. These things hold their elasticity.

Some good points in their favor:
  • They work with any shoe that has eyelets.
  • One size fits all.
  • Elastic keeps shoes secure and comfortable.
  • Play will be uninterrupted by pesky retying.
  • Fun look without knots and bows.
  • 3 levels of adjustable tightness.
  • Quick and easy to slide on or off and be on your way.
They have a current promotion running through US Family Guide. You can get 20% off just in time for stocking stuffers! Use the code, USFG at checkout to save. This code expires on November 30th, however, so you better check them out soon. Use the link below to get started.

Also on their website, if you buy 2+ packs, shipping is only 99 cents. And if you buy 4, you get another for free. Stack up the savings and give them to kids you know as stocking stuffers. Save the parents some grief this coming year.
