Colortime Crafts and Markers - Glow in the Dark Halloween Tote Review

*Disclaimer: I was sent these products free of charge to write a review. All opinions are my own.*
Halloween is less than two weeks from now! Where has this year gone?! Right before Halloween, I have my oldest sons 9th, yes, NINE YEARS OLD, birthday! Since it is so close to Halloween, we often use it as an excuse to get dressed up. Anything to wear our costumes!

My son wanted a Star Wars themed party. We will have it with my husbands family. And then, that weekend is when my mother-in-laws neighborhood was planning a block party. Food, fun and I'm pretty sure there will be candy! Which means that kids will need a bag to collect their haul in. Normally, we use whatever we have around the house for this. However, this year, US Family Guide teamed up with Colortime Crafts and Markers to get the word out on these awesome glow in the dark designed canvas bags and the fabric markers. I think having glow in dark items is best when you are planning for a night time event. And this makes such even cuter. With the added benefit of being a fun activity for the kids to do in preparation.
The canvas bag alone is great. I love reusable bags. The fact that we got to decorate it as a family, was even better.
We took turns coloring in parts of the design.
They can't wait to see it glowing in the dark. It didn't glow well at first, so I put it in a window to get some sunlight. It showed nicely after that. There is also a paper that came with it, explaining proper care, washing and how to make coloring easier.
Colortime has so many other great products to choose from. If you want something personal to give as a gift, I would suggest checking them out. Freeloader Child Carrier Review and Discount

Through my association with US Family Guide, I have been chosen to review a very cool product called the Freeloader.
When I first heard the name, I was curious as to what item could possibly be associated with such a name. After seeing the product, I can see why the name is so fitting.
We have a carrier for infants. But that only lasts so long. If you are anything like us, you might have a toddler who gets worn out quicker than everyone else. Their little legs can't manage the adventures like us bigger folks. That is where the Freeloader comes in handy. It is built to provide comfortable transportation of a toddler without straining your own back.
Families need to be able to get out and explore. Have some adventures together! This carrier allows you to continue to do that, despite the limitations of the little ones.
What do I like most of all about this carrier?
  • The frame is lightweight, but sturdy. When you are carrying a child, the last thing you need is for the carrier to be heavy. However, you also don't want it to be flimsy and fall apart easily. Especially if you are using it to travel with.
  • The straps and back are well-padded as well as adjustable. Ever have a backpack full of something and it pulled on your shoulders, biting in? This thing won't give you such problems! It has strong padding on the straps as well as on the back where your kiddo goes.
  • Pockets on either side are capable of carrying your phone, keys, money, etc. Whether you are hiking or going into a long line, you want to have your hands as free as possible. So keep those little things tucked away.
  • There is a little seat for the kiddo to sit upon. You want you child to be comfortable as well. So instead of just strapping them into a harness, this gives them something to actually rest on. They aren't just hanging around.
They include a guide on all you need to know about your Freeloader. About the design, how to single-handedly load your kid in it, how to make adjustments, how to care for it and what can come off for cleaning. The cover and seat cover are both removable.
I can see more than the potential of long hikes or traveling benefits with the Freeloader. My husband and I are beginning to prep for emergencies. After all, there have been some pretty bad hurricanes out there recently. But emergencies come in more than one form. Weather disasters, wars, government collapse. Those are just a few reasons why someone might have to venture away from home and start trekking on foot one day. If that were to happen, you wouldn't want to have whiny toddlers who "can't take another step". Or can't keep pace. The Freeloader would be a huge help in transporting the child as well as giving you the ease to go long distance.
Or what about runs? Marathons? This would make something like that possible even with a kid in tow.
See how to get it on and the kid loaded when you are alone.

And this video shows it in use and how the two of them reacted to it.

I'm feeling great about this product and would love to hear what you have to say about it. Do you think you would use it? And if so, in what way? You can also get 10% off while taking the whole family on your adventures. Just check out the deal here

Label Daddy discount via US Family Guide

It has come to that time of year again. Summer camps and trips are fast approaching! Time to label your child's (or your own) gear so that there is no doubt what belongs to who. Label Daddy is teaming up with US Family Guide again to share information and discounts to help you prepare for those upcoming events.

I absolutely love their labels! Easy to use, machine washable, and they make putting my kids' names on things look wonderful! I can't tell you how much I dislike writing their names and it comes out lopsided or funky looking. My handwriting doesn't reflect my skills with writing... Anyhow...
I have been using Label Daddy for all my labeling needs. I especially recommend them to other moms out there. My son recently came home with another kids jacket, all because they had the same jacket. Which would have been avoided had they been labeled!

Even if your kids won't be going to summer camps, there are other things to consider using them for. Camping trips, next school year preparation (can't start too early!), days at the pool, vacations or even labeling your own things if you live with someone else. They are also great for marking your personal lunch items that you take to work. Should make someone think twice about dipping into your things!

Scrape A Round review

Texas is too far south for heavy snows and ice. At least in the San Antonio area. We barely get a freeze that lasts more than 2 nights. Instead we enjoy highs of 60 degrees and count ourselves lucky when it doesn’t get higher than 75.

With that said, when it does freeze or ice over it can cause quite a difficult time. We don’t typically keep tools on hand to battle winter. Summer is our enemy. Winter is a friend who bites on occasion. This winter, I wasn’t prepared for ice on my windshields. Okay, let me rephrase…. I wasn’t planning on ice, but I was fortunate enough to have just received a Scrape-A-Round to write a review for. Thanks to my partnership with US Family Guide. Let me explain how that morning was for me and my kiddos.
I get up late (long night with the baby), I’m throwing on clothes and trying to get my older kids to tumble out of bed and get dressed for school. I’m grabbing bags and finding shoes. Finally, it is time to trudge into the biting wind to my van. It might have only been about twelve feet from my door, but those steps couldn’t have felt more difficult to take. I get the kids situated in the back and climb into the drivers’ seat. And that’s when I saw it. Frost. Ice on the windshield. A nice solid layer that doesn’t go away when I try to swish them off with the windshield wipers. Now I’m annoyed. Frustration levels are soaring past the roof and into the clouds. I have to drop off my girls with the sitter. I have to take my boys to school. And then make to 30-60 minute drive to work (depending on the traffic). I grabbed a half empty bottle of water the kids had left in the van and poured it out, hoping that I would be able to wipe the ice off. No luck still. It wasn’t until I sat back, ready to scream, that I remembered I had just received the Scrape-A-Rounds. I run inside and grab one. Within 60 seconds, I had a clear windshield and took off like a horse at the start of the race.

It did not take effort or upper body strength (which I lack) to get it truly cleared off. I just swirled the Scrape-A-Round over the windshield in a circular motion. You don’t have to, I just do as a habit. Everything is circular with me. The Scrape-A-Round fits solidly in my hand.
It has attachments that help with thicker, more stubborn ice.
I also appreciate the fact that it can double as a funnel for adding windshield wiper fluid. It is a decent size that stores well in compartments in my van too.

I may not have need of it often, but I’m grateful to have it when I do come up against ice. When I’m in a hurry, the last thing I need is the weather causing me to be late.
If you need more information, see their ad below.

Millennium Falcon 3D Deco Light review

Christmas has past, but a whole new year is here with birthdays, graduations, and baby showers or wedding showers. There are so many reasons you might have to buy gifts. OR you might be in the market to buy a house, move to a new place. Whatever the reason, I have a review I think everyone can benefit from in some way.
Having a partnership with US Family Guide, I was given the chance to review a night light from 3DLightFX. This one is a Millennium Falcon 3D Deco Light.
These lights are amazing. Easy to install, very detailed, they come with a wall decal that adds to the effect. Even while in use, they are cool to the touch. I do like that they are battery operated, so I don't have to deal with cords. Though that means I will have to change them every so often.
They also have a timer. I love this function. I've used it on the Death Star that we bought recently.

They have many varieties. My Little Pony, Avengers, Star Wars, etc. Whatever you or your family and friends are into. And they make great décor with the light is off.
They do sell them at Target stores and Target.com as well as other stores. You can get more of the decals from their website. I only wish they had something included to smooth the sticker during application to the wall. That part can be a little troublesome.
I love having these around the room. It shows off my Star Wars love while providing a really cool decoration to the walls that are also useful in the dark.
Which ones would you consider getting?

Time for more gift ideas!

I know many people living in states that get snow. Or even ice. We get ice. Maybe once or twice in a month. Might not seem like much, but its annoying still. So I was curious when I was asked if I wanted to participate in a review opportunity in league with the US Family Guide. They are partnering with Scrape-A-Round.
If you know someone who has to suffer through the cold winter months of ice and snow, you might want to check them out...

If you're tired of scraping your windows the old fashioned way, then join the Scrape-A-Round movement. You will secure your family's safety, access new gift ideas and scrape your windows cleaner in half the time with the world's best windshield ice scraper. View the Scrape-A-Round action

3DLightFX gift idea

As a part of the US Family Guide of bloggers, I was wanting to share a cool gift idea that I might later have the chance to review. Christmas is around the corner. And some parents, like myself, aren't a fan of their kids receiving too many toys. Let's face it, my kids have a room full of them and I'm going to have to donate some before they get a bunch more. Or after Christmas if I don't have time until then... So what ideas can I give to those wanting to buy for my kiddos? Aside from a few clothing items they needed, there wasn't much they really needed that could wait until Christmas for them to get.
3DLIGHTFX 3D Deco Lights are the perfect gift this holiday season. They have a full range of comic book, super hero, Disney Princess, sports and car lights that look as though they are popping right out of the wall! They are battery operated and cool to the touch so you can place them any where in the room! Your kids will loves having these in their rooms and they're also the perfect editions to a den, family room, man's cave or office! Find all of these amazing products here: http://bit.ly/TargetUSFamily
Another reason to consider them, is if your children are like mine and don't like having a dark room to sleep in. They make the perfect night lights! The kids love them because they have the crack sticker that makes it look like they are really coming out of the wall. We have the Death Star one hanging near by baby's crib.
I love that it has a timer option and will shut itself off after a while.
They are available at Target and Target.com. Just use the link above.
You can also check out their website. They have such a wonderful variety to choose from!

Hickies can be a parents best friend...

Not that kind of hickie! Get your mind out of the gutter...
As part of the US Family Guide, I'm reviewing Hickies - No Tie Elastic Shoelaces. I have an 8 and a 6 year old that both have no interest in learning to tie their own shoes. We have attempted many times to go over the easiest ways to do so, without success. So I was quite thrilled to be offered the chance to try out Hickies.
These are no-tie elastic shoelaces. You simply thread them through the holes and fasten. They turn your sneakers or tennis shoes into easy, streamlined, slide on shoes! My kids prefer to slide their shoes on anyhow, even if they are the kind that get tied. This way, I'm not slowed down having to tie them each time we have to go somewhere. They have a great tutorial to walk you through the process in getting started with using them.
I like how sturdy they are. My kids wear out their shoelaces painfully quick. Shoelaces come unraveled and don't want to re-thread as they should.
They also loosen over time when your kids keeping sliding their shoes on or off. These things hold their elasticity.

Some good points in their favor:
  • They work with any shoe that has eyelets.
  • One size fits all.
  • Elastic keeps shoes secure and comfortable.
  • Play will be uninterrupted by pesky retying.
  • Fun look without knots and bows.
  • 3 levels of adjustable tightness.
  • Quick and easy to slide on or off and be on your way.
They have a current promotion running through US Family Guide. You can get 20% off just in time for stocking stuffers! Use the code, USFG at checkout to save. This code expires on November 30th, however, so you better check them out soon. Use the link below to get started.
hickies.com
Also on their website, if you buy 2+ packs, shipping is only 99 cents. And if you buy 4, you get another for free. Stack up the savings and give them to kids you know as stocking stuffers. Save the parents some grief this coming year.

Label Daddy review

School has started. Each of my children has labels on their backpacks and pencil boxes. I'm determined to stay organized and keep their things recognizable by anyone at school as belonging to my children and not free game. Even better is that I got them from Label Daddy!
Washable labels that peel easily and stick strongly. They have made it so much easier for me. Plus they came in character packs my kids love.
I usually go with the medium packs. They have just the right sizes to label everything I send with the kiddos. Save 25% on Label Daddy name labels for Back to School -Use code USFG25 Best deal! Just go here
Plus you can join their email list or follow them on Facebook to keep up with all their latest promotions
Label Daddy makes it simple and fast for those of us who need our time for other important tasks. There are a couple things that bother me. Even with a promo code that made my order free, I had to submit credit card information. And even though I clicked the submit button for the promo code, it wouldn't update the amount until I went to the next part of the ordering process. Just keep these in mind. And every time I finish my order completely, it takes me to a 404 error page. But the order did submit. Always check your email account before trying to place another order!

Kangeaux Walkabout review via US Family Guide

As a member of the US Family Guide, I get to try out products and tell you what they can possibly offer you. I especially love things that benefit mothers and adventurers. Which if you think about it, Moms are adventurers – aren’t we? Forever on the go, we need assistance for whatever comes our way. That’s what the Kangeaux Walkabout is for.
Go hands-free while enjoying the outdoors, traveling, during sports or fitness, or if you are like me and just have a busy lifestyle.

I had barely opened it up and I noticed several things that I like about this.

1.       It is made here in the USA. I know that things are crazy here in the US and I have been considering moving to another country lately… BUT I’m a firm believer in supporting companies here in the states and promoting growth of those businesses to provide more jobs.

2.       The materials used in the manufacturing of the Walkabout are sturdy and I feel confident that things won’t slip or break while I’m using them. This is very important to me. I can’t lose my keys or phone. Or my knife if that is in the group of items I’m strapping in. Those are what I consider most important. Even more so than my wallet at times…

3.       I love the storage case they come in. When things aren’t in use, I want to be able to put them in a case and keep them in top shape. Everyone knows, or should know, that if you want something to last for a long time – you have to care for it. Plus, I can keep all the parts of it together.

4.       The grip is comfortable and strong. I put my phone and keys on to test its hold and even while jerking it around, it didn’t loosen its hold on my stuff.
The size is adjustable to hold a variety things. It has a carabiner clip or you can wrap the cord around something like a stroller handle.
I love the versatility. Having options keeps me on track no matter what I’m carrying or doing.

I plan on using this for other outings to come. We are planning to go to 6 Flags next month with my boys (who won tickets for the reading challenge at school!), 4th of July at the park, San Japan comic convention... I can hang my phone and keys or water bottle and stay hands free to enjoy the fun! I also think it would be helpful when I'm riding the motorcycle.  In addition to this camo colored one, I received the blue one. The blue is definitely my favorite! Can't wait to get out more often and put this wonderful device to use. What do you think about it?
