Silk'n Infinity Hair Removal Review

Hair removal can be such a pain. Literally! But it doesn't have to be. It can be expensive as well. But it doesn't have to be. No more need to get razors, professional treatments, waxing - nothing! There is a device that can provide painless hair removal that is more permanent than anything else.

*Disclaimer: I was sent this product free of charge to try out and host a party with. I was not otherwise paid or endorsed. All opinions are my own.*

Silk'n is an amazing company. They have brought the luxury spa treatments to the privacy of your home. This is the second time I have hosted an Infinity party for them, third party I've hosted for a product for them. I love them!

Who is Silk'n?

You ever heard the movie quote, "See a need, fill a need"? Well, these doctors and scientists, who normally created products for spas and salons, got to thinking. There are so many people who can't afford to go to these places. They can't afford to or don't have the time to. But we all want to look our best, right? So how can they reach those in need? Silk'n was born. They saw a need, got together, and created the perfect solutions. They came up with simpler, smaller, affordable devices for home use. And perfect for pandemic shut downs, don't you think?

How does this work?

Shave first, then treat. Just until the treatments get started. Once you get through the initial treatments, you will get to the point that you won't need shave anymore and treatments will drop to every two weeks. By the 3rd - 4th treatment is when you will start to notice bald spots. Most people see full results by their 8 - 10th treatment. You have to be consistent, however, to get results. The Infinity device is super simple to use. Completely painless. The warm sensation is actually nice, I think. I created this video back when I first got the device and thought I would share it with you again!

It doesn't require growing the hair out long and then laser removal. Or hot wax. You shave before the treatment, wipe the area clean and dry, use the device (moving it after each flash of light) and finish by lathering on lotion. Voila! Silky smooth results. It works on facial hair below the cheek bones, upper lip, chin, arms, underarms, legs, and bikini line. There are 5 adjustable energy levels. It uses galvanic energy to open the pores. Then optical energy destroys the roots. And finally, the pores are temporarily kept opened to allow moisturizer to fill in for smooth, softer and stubble free skin. The light converts to heat quickly and is therefore not on your skin long. This light will not flash in open air. Only once against the skin. Which is protection for the eyes. The treatment surface is pretty large at 1.7cm. They also have the safety skin color sensor. If you are putting it on a setting that is too high for your skin tones, it won't work. No refills required! It comes with a lifetime of treatments. Even if you share it with someone else. This is the most permanent option available. After the 10th treatment, you will not have to shave again. Just do upkeep treatments every couple of weeks to keep the hair from growing back.

They keep working to be better!

This newer device has been updated to treat darker skin tones better. Might take more treatments, but it will work! I love this. They are truly innovating further to be more inclusive of additional skin tones.

Another addition I'm glad to know about, would be the ability to use this device on smaller beauty marks (dark spots on the skin). There were concerns before that you couldn't use it on moles and such spots on the skin. Well, some updates are that it is perfectly safe and capable of being used on smaller ones. Large spots, however, you still want to cover up with a tissue and work around.

They advise you not to use this device if you have metal within the body (after all, you are using heat). So pacemakers and such make this device something you won't want. They do advise that pregnant and breastfeeding women not use it. Not because it is known to be unsafe, but because they refuse to do clinical tests on such women and therefore cannot guarantee your safety. Safe is in their ACES motto. And they take that very seriously.

What else should you know?

Silk'n has a promise that is very important. ACES - Affordable, Convenient, Effective and Safe. Using this device saves you thousands of dollars on spa treatments, which makes it affordable. It provides freedom from shaving, waxing and laser treatments. No more shaving creams, razors, wax treatments, or spa treatments. You buy the device once and use it whenever, wherever you want. The convenience is astounding. I prefer showering and then treating right before bed. It is highly effective in hair removal, so you don't have to do it all the time. Once every 2 weeks! Safety features keep it from burning your skin or causing other damage. You can't blind yourself with it and it won't work if the setting doesn't match the skin pigment.

Don't use it after sun exposure as your skin is more sensitive. Or on tattoos or dark moles as the pigment is darker and will darken further. Don't use it on the genital areas as they are more sensitive. Don't use it if you have a pacemaker, are pregnant or breastfeeding. These last things are simply because they have not run clinical tests. It doesn't work so well on peach fuzz. It looks for pigment in the hair follicles. So if the color range isn't right, it won't know there is hair to treat.

Want to get yours?

Because I was a super host and had a party for them, my readers get a real treat! Use the code - Infinityset to get 30% off of your own order Infinity Bundle. As an added bonus, they will throw in more free gifts as well! Like a pedi device! The Infinity device alone, is normally priced at $399. This deal is good from March 5-31 - so don't wait too long! I also suggest signing up for their emails. They are constantly having sales. Like the latest one for Valentine's Day.

My final thoughts on the Infinity.

Shaving is a hassle. It is time consuming. It can be painful and unsightly. But the majority of alternative methods are worse. The Infinity is safe. Affordable in the long run. And just easier! I really love it. And I think you will too. It comes in the perfect case too, so it will stay nice. Even better, this can be taken on a trip anywhere thanks to the plug adapter. I really do think this is the way to go for long term hair removal care.

Let's Get Fabulous With Paparazzi! (Review Included)

I've lived at my current address for almost two years. And sadly, I know very little about my neighbors. I know some names. Some family connections. But nothing too in depth. This year, I got to know one of those neighbors a little more. We have some common ground. And she has a fantastic side business that I want to introduce you to!

(Check Your Heart Rate in red necklace. Comes with earrings to match.)

*Disclaimer: I have purchased and won products from her. Nothing in this review was paid for or endorsed by Ms. Kara. All opinions are strictly my own.*

Bring on the bling!

Paparazzi is new to me. Until seeing Ms. Kara with them, I had no idea it existed. She had given my girls bracelets for Valentine's.Which brought us to talk about her products. With February over (ALREADY?!), Mother's Day will be here before you know it. With that thought in mind, I want to show you some of her amazing jewelry.

Keep in mind, before Covid - there was the option to host parties too. If you are in the area, maybe a virtual one would be possible. This would be another awesome idea for a special gift to a lady you know. Host a party! Sadly, that is a bit hit or miss now. But something I would like to try in the future. Especially as I try to help those who are wanting to start their own business.

What she has to offer!

More like what doesn't she have? Earrings, necklaces, bracelets - and in just about every style you could imagine. I want to show you several that I have gotten to give you an idea on what I'm talking about.

The very first time I browsed her web page (which is still growing!), I immediately saw something that I knew a Mother in my life might just like for Mother's Day. Sets like these are just $5. All the products are nickel and lead free. This is a long chained necklace with turquoise colored beads and brown rock-styled beads. The earrings are dangling hooks with matching turquoise beads.Native American style.

Ms. Kara has live video updates that she uses to show off her products. New things that come in. She also hosts specials and sometimes even has giveaways. I won two necklaces from her. And they are beautiful! I love the rich colors.

The first is this blue one. Reminds me of of the ancient Indian culture necklaces. The collar styled ones. Comes with matching square earrings. It is called Feeling Inde. I decided to gift this one to another Mom in my life for Mother's Day.

Then you have this deep red one. I love red! The style of this one is fun too. It is called Count to Zen.

To me, it is bold in its simplicity. Light weight and fun! The earrings are hanging ones.

My daughters love unicorns. So I got the younger one this unicorn bow and Ms. Kara gave the older one earrings!

It fit perfectly above her little pony tail, but she also wore it on the side to keep her bangs back.
Aren't these earrings adorable?? The mane and horn are so carefully filled with color. And she gets them in other colors too. The backings for them is a soft rubber, which is perfect for children.
I also purchased these beautiful earrings for my little lady. She loves the butterflies!

Make sure to check back often!

Every week, she has new items. You can check out her Facebook page HERE. I highly suggest you follow her. So you will know when she goes live. Her website is linked on there so you can check out some of her inventory. And if there is something you are looking for in particular, feel free to reach out to her! She is happy to talk about her products.

Gifts Ideas of Unique Qualities

Amazon has so many amazing things. They make people's lives simpler. Especially in areas where lock downs are still the daily reality. Or when things aren't found on store shelves.

Despite having just about any item you could want, there is, however, so much I haven't been able to find. Amazon lists are important for us. It is the way that family members know what we are wanting for birthdays and Christmas without having to ask. Lately, though, I'm finding so many things that Amazon doesn't have. Things that you need to branch out to other websites to get. Or even shop used to find. Below are things that I wish I could find to add to my Amazon list. What might be something you wish you could find on there?

Gift Cards

There are gift cards to a lot of places on there. But there are so many you can't get. You can find Lowe's, but not Home Depot. Restaurant gift cards are severely limited. Sadly, Freebirds isn't one of them.

Or any of the other great places that are local. My husband and I have decided that we want to have a date night once a month. During these dates, we want to try something new. Each time. Discover something else we haven't had before. The Vietnamese we had at Pho! ETC was fantastic! The plate I had was enough to make 2 meals for me. My husband could barely finish the soup bowl he ordered.

Or how about gift cards to your favorite book website? They have Barnes & Noble, but that isn't where I prefer to get my books. I love shopping at Thriftbooks.

I've reached what they call Literati status with how much I have ordered from them. And the fact that my Honey app has often had discounts on top of it all, makes for an excellent shopping experience. They have so much to choose from, from vendors all around the nation. Everything from collectibles, to out of prints, new and old best sellers - you name it, they most likely have it. And if they don't, you create a Wishlist that they will use to update you when that item has become available. It isn't just books either. Movies and novelty items are often there too. If you are interested in saving money and ordering from them, use my referral link: HERE. I've also been looking into Abe Books lately too. They have cheaper prices and cheaper shipping, however, they are only books.

Clothing

I have a difficult time buying clothes. First off, my style isn't what is trending. I'm a Nerdy Unicorn after all. I dress to the beat of my own drum. Often incorporating Steampunk, Victorian, super heroes, or imitating some of my favorite characters' styles. For the past few years, I stuck with T-shirts and jeans. And now I'm tired of this. I'm ready to be stylish again. I'm working out and getting fit! I want to look how I'm feeling. No, not the tired and in-pain feeling. I want to look beautiful. Then I can still try to lose about 45 pounds in the next several months.

But finding the types of clothing I want has been pretty close to impossible on Amazon. Of all the choices out there, they are missing the key elements I'm searching for! I created this Pinterest board, and something as simple as this shirt, doesn't exist on Amazon.

Not that I have found, any way. I have tried every thing I can think of! My Pinterest board has several things from Modlily and Rosegal that I can't seem to find the equivalent of on Amazon either. I told my husband that I wished people would give me gift cards to thrift stores. Of course he laughed. He said that people might think it tacky. But then anyone who truly knows me, would know that thrift stores and yard sales are my dream shopping experiences. You never know what you will find! I don't care that the items there are used. Just so long as it matches what I'm looking for. Besides, how often do we buy clothing online, only to get it and find that it doesn't fit well? This can be so frustrating. I rather find something in person, know it will fit and walk away with it then. I really do miss the days of getting up on Saturday morning to hit the sales. Sadly, my husband works a lot of Friday nights and there are no friends and family nearby who share that joy.

Another place I love shopping through - Tee Turtle! They have so many amazing shirts and pins that I could spend all day shopping from.

Unique puzzles

I love puzzles of a variety! My Mom sends me some from time to time and I have a stack in my closet that I work on. They help me pass the time and make my home seem less like a prison. I recently found one website though that had some pretty amazing puzzles. I haven't seen something like this on Amazon.  They are shaped puzzles that come in varying sizes. Within the puzzles, there are animal-shaped pieces as well. And even better, they are wooden!

 Small businesses

Lately, I have seen a lot of posts promoting small businesses. Asking friends to shop with those local or small businesses that have been struggling. Amazon doesn't need that help. They need customer service help. But not promotional help. Where can I add those items in?? Sometimes I see such amazing things, that I know I couldn't bring myself to get for me, but also don't know how to show others who only like to order from big sellers. Not that all Amazon sellers are big, but they are aligned with a giant.

Plants

I love flowers. When we lived in Florida, we had gardenia bushes, wisteria vines, lilies, gladiolas - pretty much bulb plants. My mom and I don't really have green thumbs. I actually managed to kill a bamboo shoot, so go figure. But bulbs were different. As for the gardenia and wisteria, they came with the house. You could say they were grandfathered in, nice and strong. I recently added a candle to my list, mainly because the candle had the scent of gardenia. That is one of my favorite flowers. (Bonus that the candle has jewelry hidden inside! I'm a huge fan of surprises.) I miss that scent so much. The breeze would blow by and it was just beautiful. I also love lilac, roses and honey suckle. But as far as I know, you can't add those to the list. I've been wanting a garden, even though we live in a duplex with no yard. I keep telling myself, one day. Even talked to my husband about building a planter that hangs from the privacy fence. So what I would love to see, are apartment safe plants. Flowers that could hang from the fence or something.

Mailing supplies

So this one is a little special. Yes, you can buy stamps and postcards. You can buy stationary of every type. But you can't find those vintage or unique postcards. I remember going to thrift stores in Florida with my mom. I loved looking for postcards from around the world. I also loved collecting foreign currency. My mom made me a portable table tray once with those under the glass. I loved it! Waco doesn't have those interesting thrift shops. They do have Salvation Army and Goodwill, but those places don't usually have these in the store. You'd have to participate in auctions online. Where is the fun in that? I joined Postcrossing recently as a fun hobby that lets me see the world from my own home. I also learn more about places I may one day want to see. International postcard stamps are $1.50 each. So I can't do it very often. On top of needing stamps, I need postcards to send out. But I don't want those regular sets that everyone else has. I want special types to send out. Tried making some. That was interesting. If you know someone like me, maybe even consider giving them the precut card pages. I prefer Avery best.

So what do you wish you could add to a list for others to see?  What gift would you want that Amazon doesn't offer?

Galentine's Day With the Body Shop! (Review Included)

Galentine's Day falls the day before Valentine's Day. A day to celebrate the women in your life, or your 'gal pals'. Ripple Street partnered with the Body Shop to host a Galentine's Party with me. It was so much fun! Despite the crazy video issues. I invited several of the ladies in my life to share in the fun.

*Disclaimer: My guests and I all received products for free in exchange for me hosting the virtual party and writing a review. I was not otherwise paid or endorsed. All opinions are my own.*

Who is the Body Shop?

In 1976, Anita Roddick decided to make revolutionary changes to beauty. She believed she could use the business as a force for good. They strive to empower women and girls in feeling beautiful. Not by making them look like someone else, but in feeling good in their own skin! They go for sustainable creation of their products. But they also want to keep as natural as possible with their products. In a world where chemicals seem to be in everything, it is nice to come across products that stray from the norm.

What did I get?

Each of us got different things. Which was really cool. I enjoyed hearing about their products and how my guests felt about them. The one thing we all received is the Carrot Wash. This is totally vegan and made to re-hydrate your skin. It is really orange, and reminds me of blended carrots with gel. Totally orange like a carrot, but in a smooth gel form. My skin was incredibly smooth after using it though.

The Vitamin C Glow-Protect Lotion went on well and was definitely a good moisturizer. However, I noticed it was pretty oily for me. I had to wash my hands after applying. I had used it right after using the Carrot Wash, so maybe my skin was too oily already. The smell was nice though.

I also received the British Rose Plumping Mask. Love the scent of roses that it has. This one is meant to re-hydrate the skin., while plumping and toning it. Another totally vegan option. Oh I loved how my face felt afterwards! The concoction looked a little weird, smelled fantastic, and my skin was like silk. Absolutely love it!

The Youth Serums are also fabulous! I can't believe how well they worked on softening and firming the skin. And all I used was the packets they sent. I love it!

What were our thoughts?

Personally, I enjoyed trying out the products. They are definitely different from anything else I have ever used. The Carrot Wash was amazing. I could see myself getting this product again.

My mother-in-law loved the Charcoal Mask and Youth Serum Cream. Since she has very sensitive skin, she tried the mask first on her hand. The silky smooth feeling lasted all week! Despite washing her hands a lot. The Youth Serum was another thing that had long-lasting effects. She thought the Carrot Wash smelled like her grandmothers house though - not in a complimentary way.

My mother and sister-in-law both received the Tea Tree Oil products. My sister-in-law seemed to enjoy those most.

Overall, I think the Youth Serum was a favorite of us all. The masks seem to do well in our crowd. And would be something I'd recommend to those wanting to get started with Body Shop products.

Some of my other guests and their products. Lots of smiles all around! It was a fun time for us to chat and connect.
