Since we can't afford to purchase gifts, I have gone through the remaining things I had stored in a bin back when I was working, or at least still had extra money. I had a few things to cover several of mine and my husbands family members. On top of that, I have been trying to make gifts. I'm not the best at crafting, but definitely getting better! I impressed myself with 2 of the most recent ones I made.
As usual, Pinterest is my best friend in finding ideas.
I had some canvases left over that I pulled out. Ideas came to me, but not all could be carried out. This one that I did manage to do, blends patriotism with a Bible verse.
Then I thought the Snoopy ones looked cute. Remember the good old days of watching A Charlie Brown Christmas every year?? Okay, so October was a little early to be doing so. But Pinterest doesn't pay attention to the month. They just take cues on recent searches. Snoopy took me a while.
Gave me a migraine too. I'm one of those crafters who sorta hunches over her work as she scrutinizes each painstaking detail. I blame the perfectionist in me. With my neck being so messed up right now, that leads to headaches and migraines and trails pain down to a point in between my shoulder blades.
Note to self - don't do the whole project at once next time....
Projects take me so much longer to complete lately. The pain and migraines are ever present and keep me feeling exhausted all the time. I started physical therapy, however, so I'm hoping it will help as time goes on. My oldest child turned 10 last month - so party planning took over for a while! I was also working on my steampunk projects. My oldest daughter will be having surgery just before Thanksgiving. A few days later, my youngest turns two! Then we have Thanksgiving... which will bring my Mother and Sister-in-law down to celebrate with us. Whoo!
Some days I question how I will make it through the holidays, though. So much to do in so little time! And time seems to be flying by faster and faster. Before I know it, I will have to be deep cleaning and packing as we move in... about 3 months... *shudder here*
I'm hoping to get something like this made next. Or to make a hanging picture frame collection of some sort. I have the Mason jar lids still. Just have to get the pictures to put in them....
What do you have going on? Are you ready for the holidays?
