thredUP final update

I finally received my payout amount! Yes, it took just under 2 months from start to finish. But at least these items weren't sitting around here collecting dust, right? So what did they take and how much did I get for them? Check this out:
Whoohoo... A whopping $8.91. Well, at least they have items for sale a lot, under that amount. Or I could cash out and get the amount sent to me. However, PayPal will take a cut (2% fee) for transferring the money from their account to yours. They have a calculator that will tell you just what you should expect. And look - one of those items taken was purchased too. What all had I sent? That was in my first post on using thredUP. I put in; a Motherhood maternity nursing shirt, a juniors Gap dress, a Roxy bathing suit cover up, 2 pairs of Body Glove shorts, Billabong shorts, Volcom tee, Roxy tank top, and an Xhilaration girls lace jacket. They didn't take the Motherhood shirt, Volcom tee or Xhilaration jacket. On the one hand, I'm glad I got something. On the other hand, I wish I could have found Listia first. thredUP has updated their calculator though and their inventory looks great. The higher end items are going to be your best bet if you are looking for some good money to return. No fees (except if you transfer money through PayPal).

Allied Shirts review

I've done a review for BuildASign and Easy Canvas Prints. This next review is a partner company of theirs called Allied Shirts. It's an easy to use website that allows you to design and print shirts, sweatshirts, or hoodies. Whether you need only one for yourself, or a large amount for a group they can print up your custom design and ship it fairly quickly.
Using the website was really simple. You can add a picture and text. You choose if you want both the front and back designs or just the front. These are great for family reunions, large group gatherings and events, or anything you would want to be able to identify your members with easily.
Once you have completed the design and added it to your cart, you then verify things like shipping and payment. After that, you will see many offers of other things you could get or just Skip through them. Shipping for my shirt came in under a week.

It’s a comfy cotton Gildan shirt. I washed it once already, and the printing hasn’t worn or separated as some do. I chose a simple design. Especially since I believe that the strongest persuasion comes from the least pushing. But you could do so much more. They have many options to choose from to make your shirts memorable and long lasting.

I also received an email about a promotion they are doing. Now until October 28, 2013, you can get 30% off! Plus free standard shipping. Check out their Facebook page for information on any promotions they might have such as Giveaways. And you can also follow them on Twitter or Pinterest. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below.

BuildASign.com
and also
Printcopia are something to look at.

The Fifth Estate

My Disney contact sent out plenty of emails over the past several months about a new movie coming the theaters, and today its finally available to watch in theaters. Its called The Fifth Estate.
It has to do with a law governing the right of journalism as described here:
"The Fifth Estate refers to citizen journalism. “Fifth Estate” is used to describe media outlets (including the blogosphere) that see themselves in opposition to mainstream media (the official press), any class or group in society other than the clergy (First Estate), the nobility (Second Estate), the commoners (Third Estate) and the press (Fourth Estate). It has been used to describe civil society, the poor or the proletariat."

These guys decide to share leaked official information. At first they are heroes, exposing secrets. But as it goes on, they would put in jeopardy not only jobs, but lives as well. The question is posed - How far is too far and where should the line be drawn in revealing "Top Secret" secrets? Its based on real events about WikiLeaks. The following is movie information:

Triggering our age of high-stakes secrecy, explosive news leaks and the trafficking of classified information, WikiLeaks forever changed the game. Now, in a dramatic thriller based on real events, “The Fifth Estate” reveals the quest to expose the deceptions and corruptions of power that turned an Internet upstart into the 21st century’s most fiercely debated organization. The story begins as WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his colleague Daniel Domscheit-Berg (Daniel Brühl) team up to become underground watchdogs of the privileged and powerful. On a shoestring, they create a platform that allows whistleblowers to anonymously leak covert data, shining a light on the dark recesses of government secrets and corporate crimes. Soon, they are breaking more hard news than the world’s most legendary media organizations combined. But when Assange and Berg gain access to the biggest trove of confidential intelligence documents in U.S. history, they battle each other and a defining question of our time: what are the costs of keeping secrets in a free society—and what are the costs of exposing them?"

A dramatic thriller based on real events, “The Fifth Estate” reveals the quest to expose the deceptions and corruptions of power that turned an Internet upstart into the 21st century’s most fiercely debated organization.

The question I wish to pose to you is, how far do you think is acceptable for "news" and for shared secrets? Should we be entitled to know all that the government is doing? Or do you think that some secrets should be kept hidden?

I've been using Listia and it's doing quite well for me. I listed over 15 different auctions so far. Mostly clothing lots with a few odd things thrown in. I've since learned a few more things about using it.
Once an auction ends, if there is a winner (last person to bid), they may pay for shipping (PayPal is the best way to go). Then you can mail the package to them. Once they have submitted that they received the package, the credits will then be transferred to your account. If they never submit that information, you will still receive your credits 20 days after the auction ended. Also, should they never pay for the shipping, you will still get your credits 20 days after the auction ends regardless. This is more like an incentive to get them to keep up with things.
You can also offer free shipping should you want more bids and special placement in the search criteria. Or if your buyer is local, set up a meeting place in town. Again, once they have received their package or 20 days have passed since the auction ended, you will get the winning credits transferred to your account.
The winner can send their verified address information via a message once the auction has been won.
About listing an auction:
Starting bids can go from 0-? depending on how much you want. However, any starting bids over 499 (500+) when you list will be charged a fee.
You can also leave feedback that allows others to know if that person is a great buyer/seller.
It's similar to eBay, but without fees and without money exchanging hands (except for shipping).
Also, you can earn credits daily by completing surveys, watching videos (ads and such) or purchase more credits. You cannot, however, trade your credits for cash.
There is also a nifty app for your smart phone that allows you to do listings, trading and searches through it instead of online.
Check it out here.

TruMoo sweepstakes

TruMoo is still having their sweepstakes, so don't forget to check them out! We are still enjoying our TruMoo (which I'll need to get more of).
I even dressed up to submit a Halloween themed picture as I "dressed up like TruMoo".
So give them a taste test and let me know how much you liked (or disliked) it and why! Personally I think its the best chocolate milk I've ever had. Rich and creamy without the sinking syrup on the bottom of the jug after sitting.

Another great set came from Pleygo!

We received another set from Pleygo this past week.
It was a Creator set #31005. You can make three different trucks (separately).
There were a few minor issues, but nothing that prevented us from building the sets. My favorite of the three was the last truck.
Its a 4 wheel drive truck with a dune buggy (that looks like it has bug eyes). My little brother even enjoyed helping me build one.
They have added some new sets to their inventory!
If you haven't checked them out yet, I suggest you do. Prices are listed on their site as well.

Artistic Rhinolin II Desk Pad review via Shoplet.com

It’s time for another review via Shoplet.com! This time it’s for a Desk Pad.
Consider it like a mouse pad on a larger scale. It fits my husband’s keyboard and mouse on. This helps keep things in place so they don’t go sliding all over the place as it has an anti-skid, suede-like backing. It also provides a flatter surface in case you have a makeshift desk like ours that has tiles on it. I love that it’s smooth, sturdy and black but has a low-glare satin black finish. It's easy to wipe off if you get something on it. It goes well in our office and is useful. It’s a large enough size to fit the important things. I also like that it protects your desk.
You can purchase this as well as many other office supplies from Shoplet.com. They also offer promotional products that get the word out about your business such as promotional shirts. I'm also happy to report that they now have office stationary for the United Kingdom!

My Target savings!

Shopping trip to Target today! I feel like I have wings from my savings being so high!!! Okay maybe not that far… But still! I’m super excited to share my trip to Target.
I bought: a two pack pair of earrings for $4.99 and received a TMX Expedition watch for FREE!
Then I bought: A pair of dangly earrings at $4.99 and received a TMX IronMan watch for FREE!
How did I do this? Is this even legal?! YES! Target has this wonderful thing they call Target Mobile Coupons. You text the word OFFERS to the number 827-438. This is only going to work for smart phones however, so if you don’t have one – I’m sorry but you won’t be able to. It sends a link via text. You then click the link and go to the sign up page. It will ask basic information from you such as your first and last name, your email address, your zip code and your phone number. After you fill that out and submit, they text you again asking to send ‘Y’ to confirm that you want to receive the texted coupon links. Once that goes through, you wait about 5 minutes, and they will text another link with the latest coupons. If it takes longer than that, try sending OFFERS again.

The last batch of coupons they sent had a Buy One Get One Free offer for accessories. It was valid for sunglasses, jewelry, and watches only. Here’s the kicker: You buy any item (even clearance works) and get the more expensive of the two for FREE - up to $58.99! You read that right, the MOST EXPENSIVE item is the one ringing up for free. Each of the watches I got tonight were valued at $39.99.
So for those transactions I paid about $10 and got $80 FREE! This coupon can only be used once per phone account! My husband and I both have the iPhone and both have signed up, thus I got double dipping of a sort.
Now to move on to my savings with Cartwheel and coupons.
The Little Mermaid movie is back on shelves and with it, new deals! Target had the Ariel Barbie on sale for $10 and the Blu-ray combo pack with the Storybook on sale for $24.99. If you buy both of these items, it automatically deducts $6 from the total. Plus there are two Cartwheel offers you can combine with them: 5%off Disney Princess Little Mermaid (dolls and play sets) and 10% off The LittleMermaid DVD/Blu-ray. Then you also get the $7 off coupon from Scott Shared Values. Once you combine all these discounts (plus your Redcard if you have one, .05 off if you use a recyclable bag) and you end up paying about $19.54+tax. I had a team member discount so when you look at the pictures and see my price being $17. 42 – that’s why. I bought two so I could give one to my sister and one to my daughter. The coupon can be printed twice per computer.
Altogether I paid $47.39 instead of the full value price of $163.03!!!
Amazing savings! And perfect if you are stocking up on gifts now. Don’t forget to comment and tell me what you think. Have any good deals you found? Share them with me and I’ll be sure to mention it! You can post to my Facebook page or just leave a comment.
